What it measures
Audience Quality is the percentage of an influencer's followers who are real, active users, excluding inactive accounts and mass-following bots.
How it's calculated
Lefty analyzes an influencer's follower base and returns a score as a percentage. A score of 71% means 71% of followers are authentic Instagram users.
How to read the score
The percentage displayed changes color based on how the influencer compares to the platform average:
So if the number appears in blue, the influencer's audience quality is above average for their category. Red means a significant portion of their audience is likely bots or inactive accounts.
Rating | Range |
π΅ Good | +5 pts above average |
βͺ Correct | Β±5 pts of average |
π‘ Below average | -6 to -15 pts |
π Well below average | -16 to -30 pts |
π΄ Critical | -30 pts or below |
What counts as a "non-real" follower?
Inactive accounts (no recent activity)
Mass-following bots (accounts that follow thousands of profiles indiscriminately)
Why it matters
A high follower count with low audience quality means a large portion of an influencer's audience won't see or engage with content. Audience Quality helps you evaluate whether reach is real and actionable.
